We use a matrix system to score the applications received from our seniors.    index.php?downloadFile=1&table=chapters_

The criteria are as follows:

  • The student's Grade Point Average, Honors courses and Advanced Placement courses (40 points maximum)
  • SAT or ACT score (PSAT if no other exams) (40 points maximum)
  • The student's activities at school and in our community (25 points maximum)
  • The student's experience with part-time or full-time employment (25 points maximum)
  • Two letters of recommendation from staff members or teachers (40 points maximum)
  • Two short essays on the following topics (30 points maximum)
  1. Make a statement of your plans as they relate to your educational and career objectives and future goals.
  2. Describe how and when any unusual family or personal circumstances have affected your achievement in school, your work experience or your participation in school and community activities.
  • Each application is assigned a point score based on the responses from each category. The points are totalled, and the applications are ranked in descending order.  Each application is identified by an ID number so that no students' names are known during the selection process.
