College- Complete this if you know where you are attending.  If you are unsure, complete the names of your top 3 choices.  PLEASE UPDATE THIS SECTION OF YOUR PROFILE WHEN DECIDE AND COMMIT TO A SCHOOL. (Some scholarships are for particular colleges, so it is important to have the name of the final school you choose.)
  6. After entering our basic information you will see a screen that says, "Thanks for enrolling in Scholarship America's Dollars for Scholars student center. Please check your e-mail in a few minutes.  You will receive your log-in information.  If you do not receive this e-mail, click the Support tab on the left of the screen to request your log-in information."

  4. After creating your new password, the computer will take you to a page with your "basic information."  Click the "Save and Continue" button at the bottom of the page.

  • My Information- The first page you will see will have a red, a yellow, a blue, a green, and a purple headed section.  The red section, "My Information," is where you will enter all of your information and write your essays.
    1. There are tabs along the left of this section which allow you to move from category to category as you complete your profile (Basic info., Schools, GPA, Essays, etc.)
  1. It is not necessary to complete an entire category (such as your essays) before you move to another.  Click "Save and Continue" at the bottom of each category page.  Then select a new tab from the left side to move to.  You can always go back and change or edit information.
  2. It is important that you be specific when entering activities and awards.  Detail how many years, if you were an officer/captain, any letters/awards earned, etc.
  3. YOU MUST COMPLETE BOTH ESSAYS!  All applicants are scored on both essays.  Take time to plan a thoughtful and complete essay.
    1. Parental consent is required in the Parental Information section if you are under 18.  If you need parental consent, the website will ask for your parents' e-mail address.  It will then send that e-mail a password and a link to log on and provide consent.  WRITE YOUR PARENTS' E-MAIL AND PASSWORD AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE for later reference.
    2. We do not require you to upload a photo (Basic Information category).
    3. We do not require financial information.  Some scholarships through Scholarship America might.  You only need to enter financial information if you are applying for one of those.
    4. Since Central uses a weighted grading scale, enter your weighted GPA .  If you are not familiar with the weighted GPA, please ask your counselor.  The GPA on Powerschool is NOT your weighted GPA (it is your regular GPA.)
    5. We do not require anything in the Documents section.
    6. Transcripts and References-
      1.  Click the box to "Add School Official."  This is to request your transcript.  Here you will enter information for YOUR COUNSELOR.  You can use 574-295-4700 as the phone number.  Counselor emails are:

  2. The Transcript and Reference sections will indicate in yellow print that they have been "Requested" until they are received.  It is important to check back from time to time to ensure that your reference has been received.

    1. Approximately 1/3 the way down the page is a gray box that says "Verify Eligibility for All Scholarships. "  Click here.  Some of the Dollars for Scholars scholarships have specific criteria, such as a major, a GPA, or a certain college.  This section will ask you questions that pertain to those scholarships.  After you have answered these questions, the Elkhart Central Dollars for Scholars scholarships for which you qualify will be shown.
